with David Cooperrider at Case Western Reserve University
Cleveland, OH United States
Description: The AI Certificate Program in Positive Business and Society Change is for people whose lives are dedicated to leading significant business, society, and global change.
The program draws on Case Western Reserve University's outstanding faculty and combines its rich history of leadership with world-class facilities, a dynamic learning environment, diverse interchange of ideas, and intellectually expansive exploration into areas like these:
· Appreciative Inquiry: The focus here includes solid grounding in AI's image theory, appreciative ways of knowing, social constructionist thought, the art of the question, as well as AI's many applications, tools, and methods: e.g., in large groups, strategic change, culture change, high performance work systems, capacity building, and many others.
· Positive Psychology and the Interdisciplinary Study of Human Strengths: The programs interdisciplinary search for theories of positive change takes participants into many important fields: theories of conscious evolution; scientific studies of positive psychology; recent dialogues between the world's religion and science; and areas like autopoesis -- linking biological and social constructionist understandings of human being, relating, and changing.
· Positive Change in Business and Society: At this time of rapid change in economic and ecological globalization, another kind of leadership is emerging whereby the best in business is being used to address the foremost challenges of the new century.
The purpose of the Certificate is to explore the potential of AI at the intersection of business and society -- where businesses have the opportunity to be agents of world benefit by building thriving communities, creating sustainable enterprises, and building cooperative partnerships with civil society to promote the common good. Topics here include studies of the state of the world, new forms of natural capitalism, and profiles of social entrepreneurs-- people who believe the same inventiveness used historically to create great wealth can be applied to world issues and change agendas.
