Annotation: A discussion of the parameters of positive psychology as a new field, including a focus on measurement, public and private aspects of virtues, domain-specific vs. global characteristics, interventions, community, and relationships with other fields. This article suggests ways in which clinical, counseling, social, personality, and health psychology could benefit from attention to the virtues that are outlined in a positive psychology paradigm.
