Annotation: This chapter explores the tenant that understanding how to include people of different cultures into American business is the key that supports innovation, collaboration and productivity. The challenge is a shift in our comfort in a homogeneous work culture to a work culture that embraces and manages diversity. This type of transformational change cannot be mandated but must be led from the people in the organization seeking to embody the organization’s vision. This usually requires “a change in the hearts and minds of men.” It requires a change in attitudes, values and behavior. Bunker explores male group culture, female group culture, mixed group culture and the role executive appreciation and appreciative inquiry play in creating healthy organizations.
