Annotation: Current strategic models support a framework that is rooted within a “war or survival” mindset. In this article, the authors explore strategy within an appreciative mindset that creates a movement to balance collaborative advantage with competitive advantage. This emerging framework, Appreciative Strategy, is supported by the eight key principles of Appreciative Inquiry. Within this article, the definition, focus and language of Appreciative Strategy are examined and two helpful models are highlighted.
