AI is much more than organizational methodology; it offers the church a social technology for reinventing and revivifying itself, for being reborn to live up to its own highest aspirations. AI moves us into the future through affirming what is best and most valuable in our past; and it does so by discovering and developing new life-giving opportunities instead of solving old intractable problems. At a time when English-speaking Christians are going through a major identity crisis, AI offers extraordinary insights and tools, regardless of your congregation’s theological, political, social, or economic convictions. This is possible because appreciative inquiry is essentially loving, healing, accountable, and a great pleasure for those who participate.
