2007, Feb

Annotation: An Appreciative Inquiry Workshop was conducted at the St. Ezekiel Moreno Dormitory, Macarascas, Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines to craft the Vision Mission and Core Values of the Organization. It was held on Feb 1-3, 2007. Sr. Maria Socorro Cristina L. Fernando, FMA was the facilitator of the workshop.

An interview protocol (in Tagalog/Filipino) was utilized during the seminar-workshop in order that the participants could participate actively. There were 75 participants which included students, volunteers, parents and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians ( Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco ). The student and the parent participants spoke very little English but could express themselves fluently in the vernacular.

SEMD is a very young community/organization but the participants identified many life-giving forces which they used to chart their destiny (Vision – Mission, Core Values and Planning) during this strengths-based planning workshop.
