Creating a more efficient and effective nonprofit

Annotation: Our focus was to "recreate" the organization so that it could grow ...Instead of focusing on its deficit (and the desire to downsize.) The very first thing was to hold informal appreciative "conversations" with key staff about what they thought Therapeutic Horsemanship did best and how could they help the organization grow in the future. Many of the staff had incredible ideas around realignment of staff (and the Board) that would help the organization position themselves for growth. They realized that, "if they always did things the way they had always done things they would always get what they had always gotten." Things needed to change.
To do this, we realized the Board needed to be restructured and that wouldn't happen without the "input" of some key donors --- that is why they were part of this process.
Attached is the interview guide which we used during the summit and the flow of activities and dialogues which followed the interviews.
