Annotation: This Collaborative Summit was a one-day event bringing a total of 33 leaders from 14 nonprofit organizations together. The focus was on learning from each others' success stories about moving from surviving to thriving in their agencies and exploring future possibilities. Its purposes were to help participants move toward:
• Creating thriving nonprofits able to provide quality services and fulfill their missions. • Identifying collaborative partnerships for addressing community needs.
During the morning, participants engaged in appreciative interviews, identified root causes of success in moving an organization from surviving to thriving, and prepared and gave creative presentations to depict the key themes. The afternoon session started with an invitation for individuals to identify compelling ideas from the morning that they wanted to dream about, and the group self-organized around these topics. They envisioned possibilities, created a design possibilities map, and identified action steps they could take (either individually or collaboratively) to move forward.
