Able Leadership

Annotation: I've included here a slide deck that I developed for use with our leadership team and with our key talent group. I also presented it at a public seminar on Leadership.

The fractals on slides two and four are background to a discussion about complexity and the beauty that can be perceived in complexity, as well as the fact that complexity can be 'zoomed' down to smaller and smaller (therefore more
manageable) components, yet still remain complex and therefore beautiful. There is quite a bit of Nick Owen in this, some story telling, and my own concept "response-ability" - the ability to be
responsible, take accountability and be responsive.

I end with a story telling game; you can script this any way you wish and use it in many different circumstances. The idea is for one person
(usually the Facilitator) to start the story with a carefully designed opening paragraph, after which the 'ball' of the story is passed from
mouth to mouth, with each version adding their contribution. The story keeps changing and develops a great deal of richness as it moves to its conclusion. The Facilitator can choose to end it herself, or let it conclude within the group. (Best done is a talking circle, rather than
in a room with a table or 'cinema' setting.
