2006, Jun 1

Annotation: A Missouri State healthcare group came together for their annual strategy development program and invited the district leadership teams to participate in the process. SOAR and Appreciative Inquiry were utilzed to do parallel planning for this group. Thirty individuals from across the state gathered for the six hour planning session. An appreciative survey was sent out electronically to all state members. The survey materials were used for the planning process. The strategic planning process was extremely functional for parallel planning at the state and district level. A sense of wholeness and positive emotions among the leaders was verbalized as a result of the process. State leaders were able to cocreate a shared vision for leadership and the district leaders were able to collaborate with other leaders from the state about universal visions and possibilities.
