Annotation: In BP we have a history and dependence on tools like 360-degree feedback. In the past, we have had the traditional deficit conversation about the leader's gaps. What I have found is that I can use an appreciative approach to the ensuing conversation just as easily and with more powerful results. As an example, one of our tools focuses on 8 different leadership "competencies". Following is the format for the session between the team and the leader after using the tool to gather the data.
