Annotation: This working paper describes a longitudinal study which will take place using Appreciative Inquiry to study the impact of bringing AI into the classroom for first year writing students in the SAGES program (Seminar Approach to General Education and Scholarship.) SAGES was formed to support collaborative learning and "knowledge-creation" in the form of philosophical debates, with the ultimate goal to teach first-year students critical thinking and writing skills.
