Current Commentary on AI and Positive Change

New Publications on AI: Forewards by David Cooperrider

February, 2004

This month's commentary by David Cooperrider (at the link below) is on two new books on AI that are very exciting -- one on The Appreciative Inquiry Summit by Jim Ludema, Diana Whitney, Bernard Mohr, and Thomas Griffin (Berrett-Koehler Publishers) and the other book by Charles Gibbs and Sally Mahe called Birth of Global Community: Appreciative Inquiry in Action (URI website). The commentary includes the two outstanding forewords which David wrote for each book.

A third book, which will be featured in another commentary, is one you may want to check out now. It is called The Appreciative Inquiry Handbook: The First in a Series of AI Workbooks. This book, by David Cooperrider, Diana Whitney, and Jacqueline Stavros is available at Lakeshore Publishers.

Much is happening in terms of new AI writing. We are excited about all the publishing of AI resources and cases that is taking place. Please let us know of your own and other's new writings: articles, books, newstories, book chapters, newletters, etc. Our goal, as always, is to help get the word out to everyone as quickly as possible. Our email address is: aicommons@case.edu

We are pleased to see so much creativity and generous sharing. On average there are about 800 page "hits" a day on the AI Commons and the most common feedback we receive is "thank you for making a site with so much substantive and helpful material in it". And in return for your generous spirit, we say THANK YOU to everyone who makes the dynamic sharing possible.

Our special thank you is extended to Cap Gemini Ernst and Young....many thanks for their continuing financial support and renewed sponsorship of this site for the 2004-2005 year.

All the Best,

Dawn Dole
